Using your other hand, play the 6th string and then play the 5th string (do they sound the same?). If the two notes don’t match you need to adjust the tension on the 5th string using the machine-heads until they ring out the exactly the same. Your 5th string is now in tune.

Step 3: Now to tune the 4th string (D). Step 6: Lastly we are going to tune the 1st string, this is the high ‘e’ string and the thinnest on your guitar. To do this you need to place your finger on the 2nd (B) string at the 5th fret and play the string. Play the 1st string and adjust the tension until the two strings sound the same.
